| Even though "biodiversity" as a term is
relatively recent, biological diversity in Colombia has been extensively regulated
directly and through norms applicable to other sectors. For this reason the Policy and
Legislation Research Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute includes a project on
legislation in biodiversity . Norms on biodiversity are
currently available and a project on research of national
legislation on biodiversity is being developed which analyses the norms on biodiversity by topics.
