Legislation on Protected Areas
The following is the list of legislation on the protected areas of Colombia:
  • Law number 2/59: National forest economics and conservation of natural renewable resources
  • Decree 2811/74: Natural Resource Code.
  • Decree 622/77: Regulation of the Natural Resource Code.
  • Decree 1608/78: Regulation of the National Code of Natural Renewable Resources and Protection of the Environment and the Wild Fauna section of Law number 23/73.
  • Decree 1715/78: Regulation of the Decree Law number 2811, 1974, Law number 23, 1973, and Decree Law number 154, 1976 in the sections relating to landscape protection.
  • Decree 2857/81: Regulation of the section on river basins of the National Code of Natural Resources and Decree Law number 2811/74.
  • Decree 2001/88: Regulation of the final item of Article 29, the 3rd item and paragraph 1 of Article 94 of Law number 135, 1961 relating to the creation of Indigenous Reserves in the National Territory.
  • Decree 2275/88: Partial regulation of Chapter VII of Law number 135, 1961 with the modifications and additions introduced by Law number 130, 1988 and the establishment of a process for the adjudication of common land.
  • Decree 1974/89: Regulation of Article 310 of Decree 2811, 1974 on integrated management districts of natural renewable resources and Law number 23, 1973.

  • Decree 2256/91: Regulation of Law number 13/90 on Fishing Activity.
  • Law number 70/93: Black Communities.
  • Law number 99/93: Creates the Ministry of the Environments and arranges the SINA.
  • Decree 1753/94: Partial regulation of chapters VIII and XII of Law number 99, 1993 on environmental licenses.
  • Decree 2915/94: Special Unit of the National Natural Park System.
  • Law number 160/94: National System of Farm Reform and Rural Development.
  • Law number 165/94: Biological Diversity Treaty.
  • Law number 191/95: Dispositions on Frontier Regions.
  • Decree 1745/95: Regulation of legislation on Black communities.
  • Decree 1397/96: Establishment of the National Commission on Indigenous Territories and the Permanent Table of Agreement with Communities and Indigenous Organizations and other dispositions.
