Colombia - Germany Bilateral Cooperation Project

German Federal Republic

The meeting for the presentation and discussion of biodiversity programs and projects in Colombia and cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, within the frame of the Biodiversity Convention and other such agreements, took place in Bonn. It had 15 SINA representatives (Research Institutes, Universities, Botanical Garden Authorities, National Government Representatives) and it was organized by the Colombian Embassy in the German Federal Republic, the Ministry of the Environment, the Humboldt Institute, the Bonn University and the Museum Alexander Koenig.


Arthropods of Colombia Project

The project on Arthropods of Colombia has been presented to the Natural Science Foundation (NSF) of the United States. It is an initiative of the Humboldt Institute which is expected to develop in various Colombian National Natural Parks during the next three years with the support and participation of around 20 taxonomy specialists of different groups.


Internships, congresses and scientific publications

The inventory program research group organized internships in various biological collections in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, and the United States during 1997. It contributed presentations at various scientific events on a national and international level and many of its scientific articles were considered for publication in scientific magazines relating to the research topics of the Inventory Program.
